The McCloskey 516RE Wheeled Portable Trommel Screen Plant combines high production capacity with excellent portability in a compact, heavy-duty screening package. Designed for applications including topsoil, mulch, compost, sand and gravel, recycling, and other bulk materials, the 516RE is particularly effective when processing wet, sticky, or difficult-to-screen feed material.

At the heart of the 516RE is a 5' diameter × 16' long trommel drum. The large-diameter drum provides aggressive lifting, tumbling, and cascading action that helps break apart material and continually expose it to the screening surface. This screening action makes the 516RE an excellent alternative to conventional vibrating screens in applications where moisture or material characteristics can make efficient separation difficult.

In typical mulch and topsoil applications, the 516RE can produce approximately 100 to 150 cubic yards per hour, depending on feed material, moisture content, screen opening, and finished-product requirements. This combination of strong production and compact portability makes the 516RE particularly attractive to commercial topsoil and mulch producers.

Power is provided by a 74 HP Caterpillar diesel engine that does not require DEF, simplifying daily operation and eliminating the need to maintain a separate Diesel Exhaust Fluid supply. The efficient power package is well matched to the machine while helping keep fuel consumption and operating requirements under control.

A large feed hopper and heavy-duty feeder provide consistent material flow into the trommel, while integrated conveyors efficiently remove and stockpile finished products. The RE configuration features a radial fines conveyor, allowing operators to build larger stockpiles and reduce loader handling around the plant.

With its 5' × 16' trommel drum, 100–150 yd³/hr production capability, no-DEF 74 HP Caterpillar engine, radial stockpiling conveyor, heavy-duty construction, and portable design, the McCloskey 516RE provides an excellent balance of production, simplicity, versatility, and mobility.
