Description
McCloskey I44v3HDR Impact Crusher Plant
The McCloskey I44v3HDR is a heavy-duty, high-production track-mounted impact crushing and screening plant designed for aggregate production, concrete and asphalt recycling, and demanding construction and demolition applications. The integrated screening and recirculating system allows the I44v3HDR to crush, size, and recirculate material with a single portable plant.
Crusher
Heavy-duty 44.3" wide x 41.3" diameter impactor
Large feed opening designed to accept substantial feed material and maintain high production rates
4-bar impact rotor provides aggressive crushing action and high reduction ratios
Produces a well-shaped, cubical finished product
Direct-drive crusher efficiently transfers engine horsepower to the impactor
Heavy-duty construction designed for demanding aggregate and recycling applications
Multiple blow-bar configurations available to match different materials and applications
Adjustable crusher settings allow operators to control reduction and finished product size
Feeder & Pre-Screen
Heavy-duty feed hopper designed for continuous production
Integrated vibrating feeder provides consistent material delivery to the crusher
Double-deck grizzly pre-screen removes fines before they enter the crushing chamber
Pre-screening reduces unnecessary crusher wear and allows the impactor to concentrate on oversized material
Improved removal of fines can increase overall plant production and crushing efficiency
Hydraulic hopper and folding components simplify setup and transportation
Screening & Recirculation
Integrated 14' x 6' two-deck high-energy finishing screen
Two-deck screen allows the plant to produce two accurately sized finished products plus an oversize product simultaneously
Bottom-deck material is discharged as the first finished product
Material retained between the top and bottom decks is discharged as the second finished product
Oversize material retained on the top deck can be recirculated back to the impact crusher for additional reduction
Closed-circuit operation allows the oversize material to be continuously reprocessed until it meets the desired finished-product specification
Swing-out return conveyor can be positioned for recirculation or moved approximately 90° to discharge the oversize material as a separate stockpile
When operated in open circuit, the plant can therefore produce three separate products simultaneously: two screened finished products plus an oversize product
Integrated screening eliminates the need for a separate finishing screen in many applications
Crushing, screening, product sizing, and recirculation are combined into a single self-contained portable plant
Power & Mobility
Diesel-powered, track-mounted design for jobsite mobility
Approximately 350–360 HP to the crusher, depending upon engine configuration
Direct crusher drive provides efficient power transfer to the impactor
Heavy-duty tracked undercarriage allows the machine to be repositioned around the jobsite without support equipment
Hydraulic folding conveyors and hopper components reduce setup time between jobs
Designed for efficient transport and rapid deployment
Open chassis layout provides good access to major components for inspection, service, and maintenance
Applications
The I44v3HDR is particularly well suited for:
Limestone and other quarried aggregate
Recycled concrete
Recycled asphalt
Construction and demolition material
Road base and sub-base production
Producing multiple specification-sized aggregates from a single plant
Applications requiring a high-quality cubical finished product
Contractors requiring crushing, screening, and closed-circuit recirculation in one portable machine
Key Advantages
High-production impact crushing
Heavy-duty construction for demanding applications
Integrated optional pre-screen removes fines ahead of the crusher
Large 14' x 6' two-deck finishing screen
Produces two finished screened products plus an oversize product
Oversize can either be stockpiled as a third product or recirculated back through the crusher
Closed-circuit crushing provides consistent control of maximum finished-product size
Swing-out recirculating conveyor provides additional operating flexibility
Track mobility for easy movement around the jobsite
Combines crushing, screening, sizing, and recirculation into one compact plant
Designed to minimize additional equipment, material handling, and overall operating requirements
Comparison to Powerscreen Trakpactor 320SR
Compared with the Powerscreen Trakpactor 320SR, the I44v3HDR offers several important advantages for applications where screening capacity, multiple finished products, and closed-circuit production are priorities.
Significantly larger finishing screen — the I44v3HDR uses a 14' x 6' two-deck finishing screen compared with an 11' x 5' two-deck post-screen on the Trakpactor 320SR.
Approximately 53% more nominal screening area per deck — 84 sq. ft. per deck on the McCloskey versus approximately 55 sq. ft. per deck on the Powerscreen. The additional screen area can be especially valuable when producing tighter specifications or handling higher circulating loads.
Greater emphasis on multiple finished products — the large two-deck McCloskey finishing screen is configured to produce two screened finished products plus an oversize product simultaneously.
Flexible oversize handling — the I44v3HDR swing-out radial return conveyor allows oversize to be returned to the crusher in closed circuit or swung out to stockpile oversize as a separate product.
Strong integrated crushing and screening package — the larger finishing screen gives the I44v3HDR more screening capacity behind a crusher of a similar general size class, making the plant particularly attractive where the screen can become the production bottleneck.
Comparable crusher power without sacrificing screening capacity — McCloskey lists 350–360 HP engine configurations, while Powerscreen lists up to 350 HP on the current Trakpactor 320/320SR. The McCloskey therefore combines comparable power with a substantially larger finishing screen.
Open chassis service access — McCloskey specifically highlights its open chassis design for ease of maintenance, providing straightforward access to major components.
Overall application advantage: For producers whose objective is to crush and simultaneously make two finished screened products while controlling or stockpiling oversize, the I44v3HDR's substantially larger 14' x 6' finishing screen and flexible return conveyor provide a strong practical advantage over the Trakpactor 320SR.
